The Rungwa Game Reserve is made up of 9,000 km², of pristine wilderness that borders the Ruaha National Park. It is prime country for Buffalo, Lion and Leopard, as well as large array of plains game.

The Rungwa Game Reserve is breathtakingly beautiful, with Miombo woodland interspersed with riverine valleys, open savannah plains and some spectacular granite rocky outcrops.

Rungwa is well known as the ultimate big game destination. Famous for its big lion populations.

The hunting season conincides with the dry season, at which time huge herds of buffalo migrate into the area from the park, attracted by the numerous springs and waterholes. It is Buffalo paradise, and as a result also attracts a large population of lion.
