Our Burko area, in the heart of Masailand, contains an incredible variety of wildlife varying from rain forest species to open plains type game and semi-desert species. Here you are able to hunt some of Tanzania’s more specialised game including Lesser Kudu, Oryx and Gerenuk.
Burko Masailand has a huge variety of the smaller plains game including Grant’s Gazelle, East African Impala and Thomson’s Gazelle.
Burko Masailand is also home to some of the biggest Leopard in Tanzania.
Burko includes the adjoining mountains of Burko and Lossimingor. Species found in the mountains include: Buffalo, Chandlers Mountain Reed Buck, Duiker, Masai Bush Buck, Klipspringer, Eland and occasionally Greater Kudu.
Two huge advantages of hunting Burko are that there are no Tsetse flies and because the area is so close to Arusha expensive air charters are not required to get in and out of camp.
Burko also provides wonderful opportunities for photographic safaris and for non-hunting observers. Burko is extremely close to some of Tanzania’s well known game viewing areas – Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park and the famous Ngorongoro Crater.
